Nancy Day

This series of forest paintings includes scenes from the boreal forests of north eastern Alberta as well as the Pacific northwest.
It is an homage to the ancient Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, “taking in the forest atmosphere” or forest bathing” which has proven positive effects on health and well-being.

In these paintings I want to evoke a feeling of calmness, peaceful solitude and a special reality. A calming effect for mind and body.
